Lemonade for the Library - Match Corby & Jack!
The Wilder Memorial Library is the public library in the small, rural village of Weston, Vermont. We want to raise $10,000.00 to make repairs on our building (built in the 1800's) and to rennovate our children's room.
Our inspiration for this fundraiser comes from Jack & Corby, 8-year-old twins who live in Weston. They adore the library. They are often quite literally waiting for the librarian to open the library door in the morning. They rush in excitedly and scamper down to our children's room to get the latest books, play with games and make drawings. Jack & Corby love the library so much that they have held a lemonade stand for the past 4 years (since they were only 4-years-old!) and they donate all the money they raise selling lemonade to their beloved library.
This summer Jack & Corby proudly presented Amanda Merk, Library Director, with a check for $41.10 from lemonade sales. Jack & Corby inspire us all to be better citizens, to care for our precious public library and to improve it for generations to come.
For the past few years folks have been remarking on the children's room needing to be rennovated, refreshed and made more vibrant. With the money Jack & Corby donated, and your generous gifts, we will be able to do the following:

Repaint the children's room in bright, warm colors $500.00
Upgrade the lighting in the children's room and adult section so kids and families can see the books better $5,000.00
Purchase colorful beanbag chairs for kids to lounge and read on $250.00
Purchase wall-mounted sheep mural with bell and fluffy wool for young children to enjoy $159.00
Sand and refinish our hardwood floors $1,700.00
Clean carpets and wash windows $250.00
Repair front steps, handrails and walkway to make the library entryway safer for all $1,200.00
