Jesse "the law" Fights Parkinson's

Jesse the Law Boxing Club is a Registered Non-Profit Organization, that has been operating within the Aurora community for over 21 years. The program has evolved over the years and it has continued to expand its programs to the Aurora area. We are looking to offer a wellness program to the community thats focus is to help individuals who are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. There is research to support that boxing helps to work with the symptoms of the disease. There are only a limited number of gyms in the country that use boxing as a therapy tool for Parkinson’s. We are extremely humbled and excited to be a part of this initative.
We would like to send four of our coaches to Indianapolis at the end of April, to become certified in helping Parkinson’s patients. This will be a three day trip, with an intense schedule. We need community involvement to send them. With travel expenses and the training program, we estimate the cost to be about $3,000. We are asking for your support to help us bring boxing wellness to our Aurora community to fight Parkinson’s.
The Jesse the Law Torres Boxing Club opened in 1998, by coach Jesse Torres (retried Aurora Police Officer and retired Pro-Boxer), to provide Aurora youth a safe place from negativity, drugs and gangs. With the support of the Fox Valley Park District, the program is housed at the Copley Boxing and Training Center at 517 N. Union Street in Aurora. The program has been providing underprivileged youth and residents of Aurora a place where they can participate at no cost physical fitness while learning the sport of boxing.
