Really? Nigeria this June

My name is Kathleen Gibbons Schuck. In 2003, I first traveled to Nigeria, Benin and Ghana while working with an African mission organization. What happened was amazing and reframed my worldview.
I learned we are all the same, interdependent, and all yearn to be seen and heard.

Since she was six years old, my daughter, Ann and I have dreamed of traveling together to West Africa the summer after her junior year in high school. On June 10th, we will fly from JFK to Abuja, Nigeria. We invite you to help us raise $7,500 to offset the extraordinary expenses (airfare, immunizations, visas, ground transport and food) for what promises to be an extraordinary mother/daughter eye-opening experience.
While in Nigeria, we will speak with high school girls to learn firsthand what it has been like for them since the April 15th kidnapping of girls in Chinok in Borno State.
While in Benin, we will visit an organic farm and training centre.
While in Ghana, we will visit a slave castle/museum, learn to play a talking drum, and navigate the Canopy Walk at Kakum National Park.
