Junior Wings 2015

Donation protected
The Junior Wings Program is a student exchange program between the public middle school of Monterey, CA  and the middle schools of Monterey’s sister-city, Nanao, Japan.   Our goal is to provide these students with a mind-broadening, international cross-cultural experience that fosters the goodwill between the citizens of Monterey and Nanao.

The students host their partners from Japan in August and we in turn are hosted by them in Japan in October.  We are seeking your monetary help with our travel and activity expenses while in Japan.   (Learn more about us on our blog! )

Some of our expenses are covered by grants from local charitable organizations, such as the Pebble Beach Company and the Monterey Chapter of Rotary International, but our students are working hard to raise the rest through bakes sales, rummage sales, and other fundraisers - they are over halfway there - but we have $8,000 yet to raise by October.

Please help us provide these students with a life-changing experience of international goodwill.

The Junior Wings Program itself is a part of the Education Foundation for MPUSD, an all-volunteer, independent, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that supports supplemental education programs throughout the school district.    The Education Foundation handles the funding and finances for the Junior Wings program.  Every penny raised is used in support of students and teachers in our school district.
