Send us to Space!

Hello fellow Earthlings!
We are the Space Exploration Club of Linn Benton Community College and we are participating in a NASA run program called Rock-Sat-C.
The program gives us the opportunity to conceive, design, build, test a scientific payload and then launch it aboard a rocket. The payload our team is building is a cosmic ray detector that will record the presence of high energy particles in our atmosphere as the rocket is launched 75 miles above the surface of the earth, up to the thermosphere.
And we got selected (!!!) among many other student projects to send our experiment to space, which is incredibly exciting. Our payload will be launched on a Terrier Enhanced Orion rocket at NASA's Wallops flight facility in Virginia on June 25th of this already awe-inspiring year 2015.
We currently have funding from the Oregon Space Grant Consortium which is a subsidiary of NASA. However, for our team to accomplish our mission tasks, we need to fund a majority of our own project. We still need to raise $12,000 which breaks down to $1000 per team member.
It’s a project we are really excited about first because it involves NASA (let that sink in), second, because we’re a great team comprised of amazing and motivated individuals led by exceptional and passionate mentors.
This is where you can help.
1. Each member of our team has their own fundraising goal. I need all of you to help contribute a small amount today to help launch our payload aboard this rocket in June.
2. Please help us by forwarding this GoFundMe effort to other friends and family.
Even a small donation gets us closer to space!

From the bottom of our heart, thank you.
