Thank you all for your generous donations for Matt during his battle with cancer. I am sorry to share the news that Matthew John Armstrong, 37, passed away on Wednesday, April 24. He is survived by his Mother Jean Armstrong; Stepfather Ron Rust and his children Malachiah Armstrong, Jeremiah Armstrong and Lily Armstrong. He will be lovingly and deeply missed by many family members and friends. CURRENT NEEDS AS OF RETURNING TO DALLAS
3/01/2019
Matthew is currently doing rehab several times a week and is on a post-treatment protocol. He has been able to receive proton therapy and has successfully finished all 35 treatments. Proton therapy is a much more targeted and safer version of radiation. However, the it still does have its side-effects which, combined with the post-dental surgery swelling and tightness, has resulted in Matthew having Trismus - a condition where the jaw becomes difficult to open without being very painful. We've updated the GoFundMe to reflect Matthew's current and ongoing needs as he continues to fight his cancer. In a few weeks he'll be getting his follow up CT & PET Scans that will tell how active - IF AT ALL - the cancer still is. We are believing for positive results to show no active cancer & appreciate your prayers on his behalf.
Matthew's needs include many other cancer-related costs as well as basic living expenses. Being unable to run his business he is still in serious financial need as Matthew has had to use credit after spending his life's savings in pursuit of his cure. Past & present expenses continue to add up quickly. These are all things that aren't covered by insurance so any amount of financial support makes a real difference for Matthew right now.
