Hello strangers, fellow MUNers, awesome family and friends. This message is brought to you by yours truly, the MetroMUN World team, where we’ll inform you about our 2020 mission and persuade you to help us raise money! (please donate, we’re really cool!)
What is WorldMUN?
Harvard World Model United Nations, also known as the < Olympics of Model UN >, hosts more than 2000 students from over 110 countries, to compete in more than 20 committees. The conference takes place in a different city every March, and this year, our destination is Tokyo, Japan. According to WorldMUN itself, “we’ll reevaluate the pillars of the international community, without fear, discrimination, and hatred”. Worldmun has shaped the meaning of an MUN competition like no other conference has done.
Our Delegation is a rather new one... We’ve only been around for three years, this being the fourth one, and we’ve already achieved two “WorldMUN Spirit Awards” (backtoback) and the most prestigious award: "Best Large Delegation". This means that we are currently the World Champions!!! (yay). This means we have 100% efficiency in group awards, making us the most efficient delegation in Universidad Metropolitana.
This year we want to achieve more!
Why we need your help:
Venezuela has been facing the hardest economic crisis of its history. Hyperinflation has doomed our economy in recent years, airline tickets are scarce, and since 2003 we’ve had exchange controls, which make it very difficult for ordinary citizens, more so students like us, to have access to foreign currency. The situation has been worsened by the increasing gap between the official exchange rate and the black market prices.
It has been extremely difficult to get to the previous destinations (Montreal, Panama and Madrid) and it’s going to be harder to get to Harvard WorldMUN 2020... Dear reader, for us to get to Tokyo, to represent Universidad Metropolitana and Venezuela in front of two thousand delegates, we need you.

With your support, we are one step closer of proudly representing our country and on the verge of setting an example as an academic institution for those who will come in the future, as we have done in the past.
