Miracle For Madi

Dream! We all have them right? Some of us have dreams we never thought we would have to have! 8 years ago I thought I was living the dream! My husband and I and our 3 beautiful little girls built the house of our dreams that we imagined raising them in and growing old together! We'll in 2008 those dreams came crashing down when we learned our youngest daughter, Madison has a degenerative neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy or SMA. Doctors told us that Madi would never walk and die at an early age! Well Madi continues to prove them wrong. Since that day Madi has learned to walk and steal the hearts of many! She can only walk short distances, and she has a manual wheelchair that she uses at school and when we go on outings. She also has a power stander that allows her to keep up with her sisters and her peers. However, neither of those have ever made their way into our house. Our home that was once our dream home has now become our daughter's prison! The entry ways are too small. The bathrooms are not handicapped accessible, the playroom is in our finished basement and her bedroom is on the 2nd floor! There is no cure and no hope for her to ever live happy and independent in our current home! We are very lucky that Madi has been small and we can carry her most places. But in reality how many people do you see carrying their 8 year olds everywhere! Madi wants to be able to follow her sisters, have friends over to play, go to the bathroom without being watched, and use her wheelchair in the house! She's tired of getting stuck in the middle of a room, tired of falling, and tired of 13 stairs looming over her like a mountain! Please help our beautiful little girl live independently and improve her quality of life! We are not asking people to fund our entire house just help us get the lot we desire and get a start on the dream for Madi! The lot is for sale in a neighborhood that Madi can actually go outside and play with friends! A neighborhood with lots of kids and supportive friends!
