Help Oscar the Yorkie's Recovery!!!

Hello, Oscar is a Yorkshire Terrier that has just turned 6 years old on November 23rd. He is a very eccentric little guy that loves to go on walks, play with his toys, and watch Lady and the Tramp with us as his bedtime movie.
On Sunday November 24th, He had started not feeling like himself, started vomiting up fluids, and refused to eat or drink anything. We had called his Vet and they said to watch him overnight and if he didn't start to feel better, then bring him in the next morning.
The next morning he was in worse condition, so he was brought into the Vet. They had ran a few x-rays, did a blood culture and tested him for Leptospirosis. The doctor came in and had diagnosed him with Acute Renal Compromise and Liver Compromise. They didn't know the cause though. The Vet said he was in such bad condition he had to stay over night at an emergency hospital being pumped full of antibiotics and fluids as he was dehydrated. The next day he just got worse. Myself and my boyfriend were out of town, and had to fly back to make sure we could do everything possible for Oscar. As soon as we had arrived back home, we went straight to the emergency vet to see how his status was.At that point, he was not producing any urine after receiving medication in 3 forms to make him urinate. The doctors were very negative and said his best option was to go to one of the best hospitals in the country, the University of Florida Veterinary Small Animal Hospital in Gainesville, FL. The doctors at the university was more equipped with what Oscar needed than what they could provide him at the emergency care clinic. So, we called the University and made sure a criticalist was standing by when we arrived four hours later. Before we took him to Gainesville, the doctors at the emergency care had injected him with anti nausea medication, another does of antibiotics, and a pain medication to help with the fluid that had built up in his body due to his kidney failure. He was also transported with a urinal catheter.
When we got to the Vet hospital in Gainesville yesterday morning (November 26th), the nurses took him back immediately to run tests. At this point, his kidneys weren't producing enough urine to stop worry from the doctors. So,the solution was to start this little guy on Hemodialysis. The Hemodialysis is when they filter his blood and flush all of the toxins out of his body. The process will take up to two weeks. Today, November 27th, Dr. Londono had came up with a game plan to help our pup. He said that they would start Hemodialysis and let the treatment do the work of the kidneys until the toxins are flushed out. They would repeat the process for two weeks off and on. Then around Day 5 they would give him a day off of the treatment to see how his levels were and then insert a feeding tube to feed him the nutrients he needs. He told us about the positives and the negatives. So with what we had discussed, we decided to continue with his plan. So this afternoon, Oscar received his first treatment. He did very well and is more alert than lethargic as he has been for 2-3 days. They had overshot the amount of toxins they wanted to remove from his body, so he gets the day off tomorrow from this treatment. He will be getting his feeding tube put in instead. For them to put it in before the 5 day mark is very good signs. His levels had decreased dramatically which is great!

The only downfall with this whole process is the cost. Since it is very advanced technology to perform on a dog, it is very pricey. They require a $7,500 deposit and another $2,500 before he can go home in two weeks. We only have $3,500 and Oscar needs all the help he can get so he can continue to get better and go back to his normal routine. Anything would help Oscar out!! He is just a little 5 pound Yorkie who wants to come home to his parents and family. Please Help this little guy out!!! I will also put some pictures of him in the hospital up as soon as I can see him tomorrow and keep you updated!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS!!!
