Welcome, thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I am a 29 years young serial entrepreneur, owner of Press Station and co-owner of 503Vapes. I am very self motivated, self driver and am a critical thinker, if that means anything. I am goal oriented and driven, the man with a million plans. Press Station is a custom t-shirt and apparel retail store at the Lloyd Center mall, Portland Oregon. It was co-owned with a friend and I, two young entrepreneurs, who gave up on under the employment of someone else, tired of working long hours and not being appreciated. We first began our business venture four years ago, after quitting our jobs at a cell phone accessories and repair shop. We started selling hats, earrings, licensed sports knit beanies, scarves, sports watches and sports team neck lanyards, inside the Lloyd Center mall. We also sold other variety of products we would look up on wholesale and retail magazine, we bought at Barnes & Noble and we would replace it with another product, if that particular product was not selling.
Tired of the kiosk experience and eager for something more challenging, we decided to open a retail store. Upon multiple trips to the management office, we were told to come up with a proposal, and few other documents, which we submitted to the management office the next day, and finally we came up with an idea that was approved. Through family and friends, and some blessings from above, we rounded up some money, and opened our first retail store in October of 2013. Only if we knew about GoFundMe, but again with the help of God, family and friends, we built the business from ground up, teared down old decorations, replaced the flooring, painted it, installed new store fixtures, camera system and lighting system.
We opened our doors to our community and we were the most happiest. The first month in business, we made so many countless mistakes, we screwed up on customer's projects, we did not even know where to purchase materials for customizing t-shirts in town, but through trial and errors, we strived. After a few months in business and my return from family vacations, I was welcomed back with no money in the account, no sales, over order, bad inventory management, so I was forced to either be bought out or buy my partner out. It was the worst and also best business experience I have ever went through, yet.
Things didn’t end well, my partner walked out on me, no money in the account, behind in bills and rent, with backroom full of over bought products. I went into some kind of sad and lonely world, I became aggressive, I felt like the world was against me. Closing shop was not an option, then my trips to the management office began again, slowly I got back in the driver seat.
WHY I AM ON FUNDME:
Now 2 years later, the doors are still open at Press Station. The business is still in debt to family and friends and would like to also acquire funds to secure our second location.
Your pledge and generosity will help us in renovating and repairs, new sublimation equipments, pay back family and friends who we are still in debt to. I would like to also be able to pay my ex-partner for his part of the business that he walked out on, and use some of it for bank funding to secure our second location. This will also help with advertising and marketing Press Station.
Your pledge will help keep Press Station's dream of becoming a franchise a reality and also give me the chance to put the money towards bank funding, repairs and equipment.
I need your help to raise $20,000 to keep alive and grow your local custom t-shirt and apparel store. Please anything helps, if you cannot afford to pledge, I understand, but you can share this with your friends or some else who can help. I know you’ll help me make things right.
Thanks for reading, watching and supporting. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
