Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund 2015
Summary
A 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal near the capital of Katmandu. Immediate rescue efforts are underway and the estimated death toll continues to rise. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but aid groups are mobilizing to provide support and emergency supplies to the people impacted by the earthquake. All donations to this fund will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts in Nepal. We will update on an ongoing basis as details emerge.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The earthquake between Katmandu and Pokhara has caused extensive damage in Nepal. Several of the international organizations need help responding to survivors' immediate needs. "We need support from the various international agencies which are more knowledgeable and equipped to handle the kind of emergency we face now," said Information Minister Minendra Rijal.
How will this project solve this problem?
All donations to this fund will support disaster recovery and relief efforts in response to the region of Nepal impacted by this earthquake. Initially, the fund will help first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will transition to support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted local organizations.
So far we have raised a fund in good amount, we will continue raising funds from our University's Faculties and Staff.s. Most probably we will donate the funds to Global giving or the American Redcross. We will let our donors know on what we do soon. Thank you everyone for your tremendous support.
We will post reports about how funds have been used and will email these reports to donors and subscribers. Stay Tuned.
