The Quest for Round Table Games

Donazione protetta

Hello there, my name is Charlotte and I am starting up a local game store in the River Valley Maine community under the banner of Round Table Games. My intention is to open as both the comfortable and safe place to play that so many had come to know and love and aspire to be for so many others.
The closure of our local game store, Kingmaker Games, has been met with shock, sadness, disappointment , and for some, a feeling of abandonment. These reactions resonate among the gaming and non-gaming community alike and it speaks volumes. Under the new leadership, the space would remain a table top gaming retail store. Specializing in board games, collectible card games, and role-playing games. The store will also continue to double as an event space to try new games, participate in themed game nights, and/or compete in weekly store tournaments. I really want to keep the positive community of gamers across all ages and walks of life growing and games offer a bridge between lifestyles and help form new interests and friends while having fun.

As a fellow game enthusiast, I enjoy having a local place play. I like keeping my money local versus giving to big box chains. They'll do fine on their own. So, keeping the business in the area is also important. Also, I believe the area needs a space where kids, adults, and families can come together and have something harmless to do over the weekend and during the week. The game store is a community driven machine and with your continued support, we can afford to keep moving forward.

The money raised from this campaign will get the store back on it's feet as quickly as possible with as little down time as possible. The amount I'm looking to raise, $3,000, would be enough to cover rent for the first few months and allow me to make minor upgrades to the shop like being able offer a greater selection of games, toys, and better meet the needs of the customer base. For example, some things I'd like to bring into the shop (& expand upon) are: Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures, Magic: The Gathering, Cards Against Humanity, Pop Vinyls, fandom merch, D&D, and access to wifi. Growing into bigger and better things as time goes on.
I'd like to reach the $3,000 amount by September. It is important that the store be open during the school season, as this is the best time to reach out to students and families alike. Word of mouth is very important for a business like this, and the timing equally so.
To reiterate, the sooner the funding goal is met the faster the shop reopens and your Friday Night Magic's can commence locally. (Kaladesh? Come on!) Your local place to play, meet up, trade, and hang out at comes back. Hence the rallying cry to bring your attention to how close we are to charging forward.
