Akron!!! Finally, media by the people for the people! WMVU "We are Many Voices United" 96.9FM is a community based radio station launching in Akron, OH in 2016.
The Mission of WMVU, 96.9 FM in Akron is to widen community awareness of community issues, arts, solutions, events and activities…and involve constituencies historically absent in local media in the creation of local multicultural programming, including youth. We seek to facilitate individuals and groups to reach beyond themselves in terms of education, cultural expression and outreach.
We've aquired a studio, are soliticiting programmers, have quite a bit of equipment to get us broadcasting but we still need to purchase and mount the transmitter, purchase some mics, purchase a broadcasting board, pay for music licenses, etc.
We still need another $15,000 to make this dream reality. Help us get there!
