SILCA Ebola Fund
Donation protected
In response to the deadly Ebola outbreak in Liberia, the Staten Island Liberian Community Association (SILCA) and Staten Island Liberian Ministerial Alliance (SILMA) have joined forces to launch the Staten Island Liberians Ebola Fund. SILCA is a 501 c3 organization which has led the Liberian community on Staten Island for almost 30 years. SILMA consists of all the Liberian religious leaders on Staten Island and they serve as the spiritual guardians of our community.
As the largest community of Liberians outside of Monrovia, Liberia, it is incumbent upon us to undertake urgent efforts at helping to ease the sufferings from and spread of the Ebola virus upon our families and friends back home in Liberia.
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the deadliest in history with close to a thousand deaths and counting. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Ebola outbreak as a global health emergency.
All funds raised will be sent directly to organizations in Liberia working tirelessly to educate those at risk and distributing protective gears and sanitary supplies to prevent the spread of the virus.
