Sanaba's Chicken Project
In an effort to encourage single mothers and elders to be self sufficient, SANABA plans to establish a small community chicken farm in rural areas of Sudan. From these farms, chickens, chicken feed and other livestock will be made available to those in need.
Our initial plan is to create a means of distribution of chickens and feed in specific locations for the people in the community near our center. The first major consideration is a strategic plan to lay the ground work for farmland to be identified, maintained and secured. The plan extends to educating the people in the community about the benefits of raising chickens for self sustenance, and is vital to any program.
Founded in Houston, Texas in 2011with exemption under IRC 501(c) (3), Sanaba translated as "Unity" comes from the Beja language in Eastern Sudan. The Sanaba Organization campaigns to provide immediate aid in order to diffuse a crisis followed by a long-term development plan to reform and create sustainable water, education and medical systems.
The body of the Sanaba organization is composed of enthusiastic youth that are dedicated to the service of the people. We believe that education is the key to a successful future. Therefore, our main objective is to reach out to the under privileged youth in the out skirts of the Red Sea State. We want to pave the way for the future of these children to become progressive citizens. Many of these children are financially unable to continue their education and are unable to reach their full potential. We want to bridge the gap between the under educated population so that they can integrate into society and create a future for themselves and their families. We are determined to become a leader in the humanitarian sector and we are driven by sheer will power and passion. As a local leader in the delivery of emergency relief, Sanaba Developmental Organization will implement long-term development programs in vulnerable communities. By this we are motivated to create an environment where we can campaign with others, for instance, to dramatically reduce and eventually end poverty, create better health and education services for all, and to work with others to support farming to combat poverty in this region. Our mission is to achieve sustainable agricultural, educational, health, and social development in eastern Sudan.
