Save the Horses & drivers in Luxor Egypt

Donation protected
My wife and I have traveled to Egypt five times in the last ten years. It is truly a wonderful country and Egyptians are the friendliest people that we have met anywhere in the world. Each visit has taken us to Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and beyond.
Our first time in Luxor in 2004 we met a carriage driver named Mustafa. He waited patiently outside an internet café for us to ride in his carriage for the princely sum of 2 Egyptian pounds, at the time that was about 40 cents. Today it's only about 30 cents. Instead we gave him two dollars for which he was very grateful.
Since that first visit, we have gone out of way to find Mustafa and take a ride around town with him. The photo here is of my wife with Mustafa and his nephew in 2009.
Presently there is almost no tourism in Luxor Egypt, hotel occupancy is down to 2%. The people who made their living from tourism have lost their source of income and have no way to support their families or to feed their animals. Most of the drivers do their best to look after their animals as they provide the income they so desperately need. They call them by name and see to it that they are well fed and watered.
Egypt has no social safety net for people like Mustafa and during hard times they and their families may go hungry. They suffer and their animals suffer as well. Even when times are good these drivers survive on less than $2.00 a day. They are not rich people and during these hard times their situation is quickly becoming very desperate.
We are endeavoring to collect money that will be used to help them and others in need in Luxor, via a local representative that we know and trust. She will purchase food and clothing to distribute to the needy and 100% of everything donated will go towards feeding and clothing the children and families.
Please give whatever you can, there is no amount too small, these people are desperate.
Please help and give any amount you can. Thank you so much... and may god bless you and your generosity.
