Save Anush Chemo & Liver Transplant

Update on July 16th:

Please watch this update video about Anush and his chemo & transplant process in India. Let's finish strong and help #SaveAnush and his family!

We are SO blessed!!! If you've been following our GoFundMe campaign for Anush, than you know that our original goal was $30g. We knew we needed more, but putting even the $30g seemed crazy. But through incredibly generous and kind people like you, we were able to reach that milestone.  Having done that, we knew we needed to add in enough to cover some additional, vital expenses.

For example, we didn't include the costs of Anush's anti-rejection medication for this year, which he'll have to have shipped to India to Tajikistan. We also never knew going into this that Anush would have to be in India for so long. But he needs three cycles of chemo in additon to the liver transplant... and so the extra few months can now be covered.  He'll also need to bring Anush for a follow-up visit to Chennai to confirm whether Anush is still in remission.

There are plenty of other expenses not factored into that original amount... such as additional testing (bone marrow test tomorrow, for example), someone to look after Dilovar where he's recovering while Saihuna stays with Anush in the hospital, cost of additional medical consultations (there are now a number of doctors involved in his case), etc.

SO PLEASE, now more than ever, would you invest in this  sweet two-year-old boy's life by giving and by sharing the link to this campaign? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!  For the whole story, please read the following:

#SaveAnush

I met Dilovar about 20 years ago while living in Tajikistan.  As a teenager, he had just experienced great tragedy in his life, so I invested my life in his.  Though we only see each other every few years, we talk often. And I've been AMAZED at the incredible man he's become.

Not too long ago, Dilovar married a wonderful  woman named Saihuna and eventually had a son... and then another.  About 8 months ago, their second son, ANUSH, started getting sick.  He was severely jaundiced and his stomach became more and more swollen. It turns out that his liver wasn't working and that he needed a transplant.

So, a month ago, a group of friend raised enough money to send Dilovar, Saihuna, and Anush to to India where Anush can get all the necessary tests. If he needed the transplant, than we would have to raise more.  Well, that's where we're at.  Let me explain:

The British-trainined Transplant surgeon discovered that, beyond his damaged liver, Anush has a disease called LCH... a kind of cancer. He was referred to several well known pediatric oncologists. They all agreed that Anush needs chemotherapy, but the general consensus is that he'll need to liver transplant first.

And so, we have a two-week window to raise $30,000. I know... it's CRAZY... but I believe miracles can happen... and $30,000 would certainly be a miracle. With the money already raised, it will be enough for the transplant (both for Anush as the recipient and Dilovar as the donor), all the post-operative care they'll both need, as well a the chemotherapy, etc., after Anush recovers from the transplant.  Because the post-op meds, and extended stay in India aren't cheap, we will need every single bit of that $30,000.

For those of you who know Dilovar, you already know what a special person he is. And, together with Saihuna, they truly are an amazing couple.  But they are scared and overwhelmed... and they need your help. Saihuna has never traveled outside Tajikistan... and now she's in Chennai, India with a son who can't survive long without the liver transplant.  So, we're asking if you would dig deep and give to the Anush Fund. I wish I could say that there is time... but we have to do this within just a few week's time.

As urgent as this crisis is, the surgeons and doctors believe that Anush can survive.  Please be a part of his survival. Believe me, Dilovar and Saihuna (who would love to keep you updated by email) would be forever grateful. And Anush... well, he'll grow up knowing that the generosity of not just friends but strangers had given him a second chance at life.
