Due to a shifty accountant, back taxes and fines have threatened to close our store. We had a payment plan worked out, but now the IRS said we have 10 days to pay our outstanding balance.
So, on July 26, the IRS is threatening to revoke our business license and close us down. We are trying to get an extention, but we can't rest knowing that the end could be so near.
We've been a thriving business for over 4 years. We have a great following of loyal customers, awesome classes, and are a pillar of the knitting and crocheting community. If our past accountant hadn't failed us, we'd be still going strong. This isn't about faulty business practie or poor planning... it's about relying on a professional who, it turns out, wasn't professional.
You can't put a price on community and friendship, but now we have to. Please don't let another creative outlet disappear from Chicago. If you knit or crochet, or know anyone who does, you can stop by the store and purchase yarn, classes, and gift cards. If you don't knit, but appreciate small business, every little bit will help. Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated.
Please spread the word and share this page. And thank you so much for stopping by.
