March for Science Milwaukee

We are the Milwaukee Chapter for the National March for Science. Our goal is to rise up and use our collective voice to fight for science’s rightful place in our community. Milwaukeeans deserve policy that values scientific expertise and facts over ideological agendas.

At this time, we are raising funds so that we can make our march happen! In order to hold large public events in Milwaukee, an event permit is required. If we're lucky and find that enough people are interested in coming out and raising their voices in the name of scientific freedom, we'll need event insurance. If our movement becomes large enough, we'd love to host a rally and ask some local scientists to talk about their work! If that happens, there's some equipment we'll have to rent. As much as the organizers would love to self-fund all of this, we're just not able to.

Aside from the expenses of what we'd like our movement to attain, the organizers are spending their own money on things like web hosting and printed matter. These costs will recur as time goes on, and we would like some help defraying them.

If it turns out that we raise more money than we need, we will seek out local groups that encourage young people to pursue their scientific interests and donate our excess funds to them. We believe that science is for everyone, and we want to support and be a voice for any person or group that shares the values of our mission.
