Justice for Joie Sellers and Family
Donation protected
On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, Marcia Landais and her two little girls, Charli and Joie Sellers, were standing at a bus stop on Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn, NY when they were viciously hit by a criminal in a stolen mini-van and pinned under the van for over 20 minutes.
Store owners and local residents ran to the scene and lifted the mini-van to get them out. Joie Sellers, 12 -- who was a great student, a ballerina, and full of life -- succumbed to her injuries by the time police and the ambulance arrived.
Words seem inadequate to express how we feel about the tragic killing of Joie Sellers, and brutal injuries of Charli Sellers and Marcia Landais. A family is now broken due to unnecessary negligence. The NY-Haitian Leadership Coalition has created this fund to provide assistance and support for the Sellers family during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your cooperation.
