Aimee Caligiore's Road to the LPGA

My name is Aimee Caligiore, from Lake Placid, NY. In the winter of 2015, I went to Orlando, FL to work, practice, and play tournaments in preparation for LPGA Q-School. After spending the summer of 2015 back in Lake Placid, when the Northern season ended in the fall, I decided to move permanently to Orlando to pursue my golf career.

I went back to Florida in November 2015 and couldn't have been more excited. I was able to return to the full-time job I had the previous winter at Orange County National. Since then, I have moved on to a new position at Lake Nona Golf Club, also in Orlando. This setting has been very inspiring to me, given that so many players from the PGA Tour, LPGA and European Tour call Lake Nona home, and I see them practicing and playing every day when they are not traveling.

I have been playing in National Women's Golf Association events, as well as trying to qualify for Symetra Tour events, the developmental circuit of the LPGA.

In March of 2017, I had my best finish as a professional, tying for 8th in an NWGA event shooting 71-72-74. I earned my first professional check and since then I feel like I have gained so much confidence.

After my performance at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament (Q-school) in August 2015, I qualified for my first Symetra Tour event in June 2016 in Albany, NY. That was a great experience for me, being so close to making the cut in my first ever Symetra Tour event, as well as playing so close to home. It definitely gave me a boost and I felt as if I belonged in a larger, more competitive field.

I returned to Q-school in August 2017 and improved my standing even further. Along the way, nearly three years ago, I started working with instructor Nick Adcock from Sean Foley Performance. Nick has introduced me to swing improvements that now have me striking the ball better than ever. Since then I have posted many rounds in the low 70s. A major highlight was winning the 2019 Hartford Women's Open where I shot 71-70. Now I feel the next breakthroughs are right around the corner.

Right now, I feel I am the best player I have ever been, and my chances for success are better than ever. LPGA Q-school was canceled in the summer of 2020 due to COVID, but all systems are go for August 2021 and I will be ready!

MY RESUME:

I graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY where I achieved the following:

--The only female golfer in school history to be named All-American.
--School record for most rounds in the 70s.
--Winner of the first-ever ECAC Championship.
--Participated in the NCAA Championship twice, once as an individual.
--Best individual finish in the NCAA Championship.
--Named to the All East Region Team twice.
--Best season stroke average.
--Most Top 10 career finishes.

To help cover my tournament costs, I am asking for your assistance. The entry fees and travel expenses (including room and board) add up quickly. Your support, no matter how big or small, would be significant to me and used strictly for these expenses and events.

I want to thank those who have donated and helped me get to Q-School. Thanks to Nick and my parents for their undying belief in me, and a big thank-you to my sponsors Team Worldwide and RockBottomGolf.com.

The road to reach my ultimate goal of being on the LPGA Tour continues. In my first two events of the 2021 spring, I had a pair top 10 results. Now I can't wait to see what the summer of 2021 brings.

Thank you very much for your encouragement and for listening! I will post updates here regularly to inform you of my progress. I hope you will return often.
