Timmins Ringette U16 To Moncton
Donation protected
We are seeking support for a very talented group of young athletes from Timmins, ON.
On March 22, 2015 in Newmarket ON, the U16A Timmins Tornadoes ringette team was crowned Provincial Champion for 2015! This victory means that this elite group of young ladies will now be representing “Team Ontario” at the 2015 Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships from April 16-19th in Moncton, New Brunswick. This is a BIG DEAL for Timmins and Northern Ontario!
Join us in congratulating Emily Bartolomucci, Janelle Béland, Kameron Brousseau, Jaime-Lee Cayen, Isabelle Chartier, Gabrielle Dagenais, Véronique Gagné, Tara Jensen, Jade O’Donnell, Erin Rumleski, Alexie Trudel, Alexa Verreault and Thea Wucher . This talented group, along with their coaches (Rick Dagenais, Frank O’Donnell, Gabriel Chartier, Linda Dagenais and Janet Jensen), are honoured to represent their community of Timmins and the Province of Ontario.
During the regular season, this team funds all of its own travel and expenses, based on a budget laid out in September. This includes travel to at least four tournaments in southern and eastern Ontario, as well as the cost of training on and off ice. Now, with the honour of the U16A Team Ontario title, comes the reality of paying for the team’s dream to go to Moncton.
We are embarking on an intensive campaign to gather community support. In their quest to be crowned Eastern Canadian Champs, these young athletes are facing significant added expenses, in a very short timeframe (3 weeks), for on and off ice training, travel, and food & accommodations while in New Brunswick. We estimate it will cost each player approximately $2,000 to participate in this event.
The team has lined up several fundraising events, including a pasta dinner, a bottle drive, and a piloxing class. However the team is also relying heavily on donations from friends, family and local businesses. We need your help to reach our fundraising goal so that we can cover the costs of these young athletes!
