Terri's Medical Bills

I met my wife Terri in November 1984, I fell in love with her and we married on September 21st 1985. We discovered shortly after she had a genetic defect where she grows skin cancer on her own and rapidly. Within a few years she had to have 3 layers of her entire face lasered off because of cancer, the only skin on her face that was left were her eyelids and lips. Every month she had multiple cancers cut off and stitched and went on to work as nothing was wrong. Several years later she had to have both her lips removed for cancer. Thru the next eight years she has had hundreds of cancers removed and stitched, her entire left hand had all the skin removed and grafted.

After 16 years of this her oncologist said he needed to start her on chemotherapy, she/we have been going weekly ever since, about 12 years. In the past 4 years we have been fighting a massive mrsa infection on her lower legs. In this past year alone she has had; viral meningitis for 9 days, she had no idea who I was or our daughter, where she was or what was happening. She hallucinated every day thinking she was being held in a prison somewhere. She recovered however but suffers memory loss. Two weeks later she had surgery on her left leg for a torn meniscus, but then 2 weeks later I found her in the bedroom collapsed having a seizure, I called 911 and the hospital discovered she had had a grand mal seizure. If I had not of been there they said she would’ve most likely died.

Her health has deteriorated to the point that her immune system is nonexistent, after 4 years of I.V. antibiotics we are now told by her oncologist that if she wants to live she needs to have both her legs amputated or the mrsa infection is going to get in her blood and she will die.

***Update on June 20th 2015: Terri fell in the garage and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, she broke both of her wrists and damaged her left knee which now needs to be replaced as well.

She is now to the point were the legs will have to be amputated very soon. We are getting to the point where we will have to modify the house for wheel chair access because she will be in a wheel chair the rest of her life.  The estimate given for a chair lift to be put in the house for the stairs is around $4,500, then we have to modify the bathroom which costs around $2,500.  Our medical bills are sitting around $15,000.

Any help with further donations would be deeply appreciated to make this next big change in our lives a little easier to help with our enormous medical debt.
