The Ashley Roby Foundation's (501-c-3) mission is to raise funds for the Nationwide Children's Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care (home-based) team. The home-based program is designed for families who have a child facing a life-limiting or end of life condition, as we did, and who are seeking additional support and care management from the comfort of home. This family-centered program focuses on relieving pain and managing symptoms. The funds that we raise go directly to the families who may need some help or hope.
The Ashley Roby Memorial Golf Outing is the primary fund raiser for The Ashley Roby Foundation. The event has raised $37,200 over a four year period. Our donor friends have helped many families through difficult times.
Our daughter, Ashley, battled a rare chromosome disorder (Trisomy 5p) her entire life. The disorder caused her to have severe respiratory problems, seizures and caused developmental delay both physically and mentally. But, Ashley was a true inspiration. She taught a family and a community how to respect and show love to children with significant disabilities. She changed lives. Unfortunately, Ashley passed away on September 28, 2016 at the age of 23. As a family, we decided to honor Ashley every year by having a golf outing/fundraiser to raise money for the Nationwide Children's Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care team so they could provide a little help to these families on the spot, just as they did for us. The 5th Annual Ashley Roby Memorial Golf Outing will be held on August 21, 2021. Please see The Ashley Roby Foundation Facebook (@ashleynicoleroby1992) page for more details. The funds we raise through the golf outing and from individuals (or companies) who do not golf go directly to the Hospice and Palliative Care team in the form of $25, $50 and $100 gift cards.
