Drew Fowler

It has been quite a journey since this fundraiser began when Drew was diagnosed on November 17, 2012. At that time Drew’s brain tumor needed treatment immediately and he began chemotherapy shortly after. The community came together and responded so quickly to help, it was truly heart-warming. People began giving so generously- sending also their love, prayers and words of encouragement to the family. The money raised went directly towards the next 1.5 years of chemotherapy- co-pays, countless medicines, doctor visits, MRIs, blood transfusions, surgery for his port placement and removal, and many unplanned hospital stays. Drew had some success with his tumor shrinking at the start of treatment, then it plateaued and stayed the same size for the remainder. As long as it did not grow it was considered a success.
Unfortunately, in September of 2014, after a routine MRI, it was discovered that Drew’s Optic Nerve Glioma has begun growing again. The family faces the same situation they found themselves back in 2012. When surgery is not possible, chemotherapy is the only option given for his particular tumor, and typically they administer once a week for a full year. Once again this little boy and his family have a long road and many battles to fight in the year ahead. Your donations and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
