Help Get Used Tools To Africa!!
Donation protected
The goal of this campaign is to raise money for the establishment of a fund that will be used for shipping containers full of new and used tools to rural villages in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
In affliation with Reggae On The River's Tools For Change program- and sponsored by the non-profit Mateel Community Center in rural Humboldt County, CA- the first West African community that will benefit from this exciting outreach is Zao in Burkina Faso. Comprised of nine small villages which farm and work the land together, more than 3000 people will directly benefit from this fundraiser.
While the larger Tools For Change program encourages attendees of Reggae On The River to bring new and used tools with them for collection at the festival (see list below for items needed), funds raised through this specific campaign will be used to send the first shipment of tools that has already been collected. It will also enable the establishment of a fund to be used for continued shipping, which includes pick up of the tools by truck, overseas shipping from the Port of Oakland to Tema, Ghana; and delivery to Zao, Burkina Faso.
