Marathon to ELIMINATE Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus
Join me to make a GLOBAL impact on our world.
I will be running my first Marathon on September 28th, 2014 in Bellingham Washington and I want to use this experience to make a difference so I am fundraising for ELIMINATE. Kiwanis International's goal is to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) by next year! I believe this is possible and want to do my part to make it a reality. This is what energizes me to be a member of Kiwanis, how often do you get the chance to reach beyond your community, your town, your state, or your nation to truly make a difference. The link at the bottom of this page is a video describing in more detail about this terrible and preventable epidemic. There are currently 25 countries still struggling with this disease and for $1.80 (pairing with UNICEF) we can vaccinate 1 mother and this will prevent her and all of her future children from contracting MNT. Please donate what you can; my Goal is to raise $10,000 which is $381.67 per mile of my Marathon which translates to 212 vaccinations per mile. I know my goal is large but really every $1.80 counts!!
