My name is Stephanie. The short version of my story is as follows...
As a child, I was very shy. I suffered from low self-confidence and low-self-esteem this led to anxiety and depression as I got older. The depression kept me from living life to the fullest. I gained so much weight that I didn't know what to do to get it off and keep it off. At my heaviest, I weighed 315 lbs.
All of this changed for me on April 6, 2013. This is the day that met Personal Trainer, April Hartsook. For 2 years, April has challenged and pushed me mentally, emotionally, and physically. As a result, I have become a better me. I am a better and healthier daughter, sister, friend, and teacher. I am a Warrior! I have overcome so major obsticles.
April's trademark is Want Different Do Different™. If you want different, you have to do different. Our running and triathlon teams support ALS research and Hartook's Heroes. To date, I have lost 95 pounds. I have completed two 5Ks, two beginner triathlons, and a half marathon. In 2015, my challenges/goals are to finish my first Sprint Open Water Triathlon, another half marathon, and my first full marathon. Along with all these awesome challenges and goals, comes expenses: uniforms, entry fees, travel expenses, etc.
I race to bring awareness to ALS, Hartsook's Heroes, and the American Heart Association. I also race to inspire anybody out there that thinks they can't do what I do; that they can. You can have anything that I have. You just have to believe in yourself and put one foot in front of the other and Do Different.
Please consider funding my journey of health & wellness to bring awareness to ALS, Hartsook's Heroes, and the American Heart Association.
