Greetings and salutations, to all. I hope all is well. Alright, everyone. The moment you all have been waiting for. The announcement relating to the very special event I am planning:
I am extremely proud to present:
A DINNER FOR LESLIE
The premiere event celebrating the life of Leslie Rutherford and to promote and raise public awareness of a woefully disserviced member of the medical community.
SCLERODERMA is a horrific, horribly disabling illness that is underappreciated and unrecognized.
This is my inaugural salvo to promote and raise awareness and advocacy to assist in funding research and staffing of the best in the field with the end goal of finding a cure in mind.
Other big ticket illnesses, well within their individual rights, garner all of the high-end publicity. Such as Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS, among others. In my opinion, Scleroderma has deserved to rub elbows with this class of elite and is looking for its just due.
On July 13, many of whom have been touched either positively by my late wife or negatively by the crippling monster named Scleroderma will gather to pay tribute to their fallen friends who waged war with this formidable foe, share their experiences with this thieving disease and have a good time surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. Even if for only one night.
Doors open at 7pm and people will be granted access into the facility. There will be an open bar of SOFT DRINKS. A small donation will apply to those looking to consume liquid libation. Also, please curb the debauchery and level of deviant behavior. Keep in mind, this is a gathering of friends, family and loved ones looking to celebrate the lives of those who has taken their first steps into eternity. Anything done to besmirch the proceedings will be met with zero tolerance. Black tie optional, formal wear suggested, business casual accepted.
Scrumptious cuisine will also be displayed in ample supply. However, those looking to donate dishes will not be turned away. As I say, far be it from me to turn down free food. :-D Also, please keep in mind to supply for others as well.
A DJ and an ample sized dance floor is also provided. So those feeling the need to "shake their groove thang" can do just that. Special requests can be fulfilled, within reason.
When the clock strikes midnight, the fairy tale event ends. So, I implore you to make the very best of this night as I plan to. This is my way of showing appreciation for the best, truest and most honorable woman for whom I had the pleasure of calling my wife for close to sixteen years. It is also my small way of shining a light on the horrible situation that all who are affected by this gruesome affliction and how they fight to see the next day.
Please keep in mind that attendance is limited, as the space holds a maximum of two hundred (200) occupants. So, when made available, please procure your special invite ASAP.
As this GoFundMe page was created for those moved to donate to my multi-pronged cause, it is not for those to purchase tickets to the event. For those looking to do just that, please stay tuned as information on how to attend the event will be forthcoming when made available.
