Help ABCDreams Give a Library to Nduweni Primary School
As a child, did you have a favourite book? Did you love going to the library? Books are portals for children’s imaginations to soar.
Little kids love storybooks and picture books and to us here in Canada, books and children just go hand-in-hand. However, the children of Nduweni Primary School, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania have no books and no library. All they have are a few tattered, old textbooks which are re-used year after year.
The severely underfunded primary schools of Marangu West, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania can’t afford libraries. ABCD: Art Building Children’s Dreams aims to establish a library in all of the primary schools of Marangu West and Nduweni Primary School is next. A classroom awaits renovation to become the library. A local carpenter is ready to build bookshelves and a big reading table. Books are waiting to be ordered and delivered into the hands of the children.
Summary of Our Goal
1. Reno of classroom - $2570 CDN
• Steel door with lock = $190
• Window grills = $55 each for 4 grills
• Cement = $10 per bag for 50 bags
• Sand = $160 per truckload for 4 truckloads
• Lime=$4 for bags for 10 bags
• Stones=$100 per truckload for 3 truckloads
• Blackboard paint = $20
• Local labour = $660
2. Furniture Costs (Built Locally) - $ 740 CDN
• 2 Bookshelf = $220 each
• Table (7’x4’) = $200
• 10 Chairs = $10 each
3. Book Order - $2000 CDN
• $2000 for book order from local school bookshop (Totoo), which are textbooks in many subjects for different grade levels: Science, Geography, History, English, Kiswahili, Mathematics. Books cost approx. $5 each.
Note: ABCDreams volunteers bring donated English picture books and story books every year when they travel to Tanzania.

Stretch Goal
If we surpass the goal, extra money can be used to buy atlases, dictionaries, educational posters, and other teaching resources.

How To Get An Income Tax Receipt
Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 and above for Canadian donors.

3. Forward this email (from step #2) to: [email redacted] and include the following information...

The vision of ABCD: Art Building Children’s Dreams is a world where vulnerable children can achieve their dreams. We are a Canadian charity that raises funds to help children in rural Tanzania complete their education.
We pay school fees directly, and also fund breakfast programs, school libraries, teaching resources, computer classrooms, new toilets and kitchens in schools, and other school infrastructure projects.
