Australian Vaulting Squad - WEG 2014

Donation protected
The Fassifern Vaulting Senior squad have realized their four year goal of selection to compete at the FEI World Equestrian Games to be held in Caen, Normandy, France in September 2014, being named as the Australian Vaulting Squad.

The Squad consists of six QLD vaulters; David Waller, Emily Kleier, Anna, Lucy & Jean Betts, Carlee Roberts and two NSW vaulters Sarah Grayson and Jessica Masterton.

As Equestrian Vaulting is a non-Olympic sport, the World Equestrian Games which are held every four years is the Olympic equivalent for the sport. Competitors from 20 nations will be taking part in the event that takes place from the 23rd August to the 7th September.

In order to prepare for the event, the Squad will leave Australia in early August and travel to Holland where they have secured a training base with the Dutch vaulting club Wittegheit. Here they will have the opportunity to train on the horse/s they have secured to compete on at the event ‘Triple’ and ‘Zidane B’ (reserve horse).

Travel to Europe plus training/accommodation/competition fees and uniforms are expensive and although each member of the squad have been saving money for the past two years and actively involved in local fund raising events, they are seeking some more help to assist them with representing Australia Internationally. Any donations will be split between the team evenly.
