On June 17, 2018, we lost our beloved Johnny to the disease of addiction and the rampant heroin overdose epidemic. This disease and epidemic have robbed us of a person who faced life with wide open arms and an eager heart.
Addiction research is more important today than it has ever been. There are 4 times as many heroin overdoses today than there were in the year 2000. Addiction is a disease that affects not just the addict, but also their family and community. While scientists are searching for the solution, what we do know is that Johnny was an innocent, kind young man with a sweet soul.
Help us fight this disease. The National Institute for Drug Abuse funds almost all drug addiction research in the United States. They are our hope for finding a solution.
