Hello Everyone,
My name is Adia McCastle and I am a sophomore at Robert E. Lindblom Math and Science Academy in Chicago IL. For the past two years I have participated in a program called The Summer Institute for the Gifted (S.I.G). I have studied at the University of California at Berkeley and at Princeton University in New Jersey. I've taken classes such as Astrophysics, Synaptic Plasticity, DNA Diagnostics, and even S.A.T. Prep. I was also fortunate enough to meet world-renowned astrophysicist Neta Bahcall. I've met like minded students from all over the world (including my roommates from China and Japan) and made lasting friendships with teens across the United States. Being apart of this program not only helps to further my education, but it also looks extremely well on my high school resume in preparation for college. This summer I have the opportunity to study at Yale University in Connecticut. However S.I.G. has run out of any form of financial aid that I have used in the past. It is an expensive program and including airfare, my family just can't afford it by ourselves. Exposure to programs like this is rare for kids in my community. I am asking for your help. If you could donate anything at all, I would greatly appreciate it. Your donation will help me take advantage of this great opportunity. Thank you very much.
