After The Sewol
On the morning of April 16, 2014, the South Korean passenger ferry, Sewol, capsized and sank en route from Incheon to Jeju Island. The majority of the 476 passengers were High School Students.
2014년 4월 16일 아침에 , 인천에서 제주도로가는 세월호가 뒤집혔으며 배는 곧 가라앉았다. 다수의 승객은 476명의 고등학생이었다.
Of those passengers, 304 of them died in the tragedy. The world paid attention to a nation in mourning.
이 승객들 중 304명이 이 비극으로 인해 목숨을 잃었다. 전 세계는 이 나라의 슬픔을 애도했다.
In the weeks following the tragedy, bodies were slowly recovered for burial. Today 9 bodies still remain trapped inside of the sunken Sewol ferry.
이 비극적인 일이 일어나 일주일 뒤, 몇몇 시체는 가족 품으로 돌와왔다. 그러나 아홉명의 아이들은 아직도 세월호에 갇혀있다.
The families of the victims and members of public have campaigned for the sunken ferry to be lifted from the ocean floor. It being there insures that the bodies remain uncovered and the incident uninvestigated.
세월호 희생자 유가족들과 시민단체들은 세월호를 인양해야한다는 캠페인을 열었다. 시체가 아직도 발견되지 않았으며 사건에 대한 수사가 적극적으로 일어나지 않는다는것을 의미한다.
It is believed that without a full investigation many questions and issues are unanswered and unresolved in an incident that shocked an entire nation and caused the death of hundreds of children.
적극적인 수사가 제대로 실행되지 못할때 수많은 의문증과 정답들을 해결할수가 없다. 수사가 제대로 진행되지 못한다면 세월호 희생자 유가족들과 나라에 크나큰 충격을 일으키게 할것이다 .
SYNOPSIS
Many documentaries have focused on the cause of the sinking of the Sewol and the government's delayed response to a thorough investigation. This documentary will touch on these issues but we will take an in depth look at how the lack of response from officials and the government has really impacted on the lives of those that now matter most.
이 다큐멘터리는 세월호가 왜 침몰했는지 왜 정부의 수사가 제대로 안되고 왜 지연됬는지에 초점을 둔다. 이 사건들에 대해서 감정적으로 다가갈것이다. 지금 가장 문제가 되고있는 정부와 정부기관단체들의 너무 열악한 대응과 수많은 희생자를 낳게 한 부분을 우리는 심오하게 봐야 할것이다.
The families who lost their children in this national disaster have gone through a tremendous amount of change in their lives and are now fighting to change and improve the current social state of Korea.
자식을 잃은 가족분들은 그들의 삶에 파격적인 영향을 끼쳤으며 그리고 이것을 바꾸기 위해서 대한민국에 싸우고 있다.
We will will follow three main subjects and watch how and why these families are acting in order to achieve this much needed change.
우리는 세월호 희생자들에게 도움을 주기 위해 3가지 관점에서 볼것입니다.
We will also explore why members of the general public are giving up their free-time in order to promote awareness and educate others about the effects this tragedy has had on their nation.
우리는 또한 시민들이 자기 자유시간을 포기하면서까지도 이 국가에서 일어난 비극적 참사에 최선을 다해서 일하는지 볼것입니다.
Using the sinking of the Sewol ferry as a catalyst, the aim of this documentary to not only shed light on the suffering the victims have gone through but also to show how they have fought and struggled to be heard in trying to create change for the better.
이 다큐멘터리는 현재 고통받는 유가족들뿐만 아니라 유가족들이 어떻게 싸웠는지 더 변화를 위해서 어떻게 싸우는지를 다룰것입니다.
WHAT WE ARE RAISING MONEY FOR
So far we have undergone countless hours of filming for this project, which have been funded from our own pockets. However, we are now trying to raise money to complete this feature length documentary.
우리는 다큐멘터리를 위해서 수많은 노력과 시간을 투자했습니다. 지금까지 저희의 돈으로 이 활동을 해왔습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 장편 다큐멘터리를 완성시키 위해서는 여러분들의 도움이 절실히 필요합니다. 이 다큐멘터리가 스케줄안에 끝나기 위해서는 가능한 빠른시일내에 기금이 필요합니다.
HOW THE MONEY WILL BE USED
As most of our filming requires us to travel to many locations thorughout the country a large amount of our raised money will be spent on travel costs, food and accomodation.
Other areas the raised money will be spent will be on production equipment, such as memory cards and extra batteries.
The money that remains after all production costs have been dealt with will go towards our distribution strategy, which will allow us to get this documentary seen by a global audience.
다큐멘터리를 위해 수많은 지역들을 오고가면서 촬영을 해나가고 있습니다. 여태까지 음식 숙박 교통비등 저희의 돈으로 해왔지만 더 많은 지역들을 왕래하면서 음식 숙박 교통비 촬영 배터리 그리고 전 세계에 이 다큐멘터리가 상영되기위해서 여러분들의 기금을 쓸것입니다.
