Save Chris's Eyesight - Diabetes

Hi everyone!  I've created this fundraiser to help with my Husbands eye surgery that was performed at GBMC on July 1, 2014 by Dr. John Thompson of Retina Specialists.  Chris had a Vitrectomy on his right eye and scatter laser 1600 times to his left eye.   As some of you know, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 7 years old.  Chris had developed Proliferative Rentinopathy which caused hemorrhaging of the eyes and extreme blurred vision.  
  He currently has NO insurance which forced us to pay out of pocket. The total amount was $10,000.00 to cover the expenses for the scatter laser treatment, vitrectomy, hospital, Doctor bills and other associated expenses. This is a HUGE expense to pay out-of-pocket. All funds raised will be put towards these costs and will be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.
At the post surgery checkup the Dr. told us that he caulterized around the eye and one had bleed through.  Chris still has a hemorrage in his right eye caused by the caulterizing.  Over time the blood will settle. Healing time can take up to 3 months.  He has stitches in his eye, bruising, lots of irritation and pain. His vision has not quite returned.
Once completely healed there is only a 10% chance that his eye will bleed in the future. As for the left eye, hitting the laser 1600 times rid his eye of every abnormal vessel but regrowth over time is possible and may require more scatter laser treatment in the future.
Chris has a passion for riding his motorcyle at track days and his health has prevented him from riding for some time.  Because of your generousity and thoughtfulness my Husband will soon be able to ride for many years to come and be able to see our 4 year old daughter grow up to be a beautiful women.  We have 3 children.  Jared, my stepson is 18, my son Isaac 12 and Bella is 4.
