Carter's Medical Fund "Team Carter"
Donation protected
Luis and Danielle were blessed with this beautiful baby boy. Carter Joseph Gonzalez born October 25, 2015 @ 4lbs 1oz. Drs. were concerned and sent him to Shands Hospital UF were he had several tests and was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia a rare liver disease that only 1 in 18,000 babies are diagnosed with. On December 1, he had a major surgery called the Kasai procedure, it is not a cure but it gives time before a liver transplant would be needed. Hopefully several years. Today December 10, he went back to Shands with a few complications and the Drs. told them that the Kasai procedure didn't work, and he will have to be put on a liver transplant list now. You can only imagine how Luis and Danielle feel at this moment. Shands does not perform liver transplants and Carter would have to either go to Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga or the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, The decision of which hospital will be made this week. We are starting this fund to help with the travel and living expenses during the transplant. This will help ease some of their burden during this most difficult time. Thank you to everyone for the love and support xoxo
