All Aboard for Nathan

Donation protected
Our little boy is undergoing a surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH in Dec 2015 to help eliminate/combat his tight muscles caused by cerebral palsy. Nathan is a twin who was born prematurely due umbilical cord compression which resulted in a brain injury called periventricular leukamalacia that ultimately became spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. Even though he started at 3 1/2 pounds, Nathan has been a fighter.
Unfortunately, due to the severity of his disability, Nathan can do very little in this life without assistance and has already undergone numerous procedures in his short 4 1/2 years. But he is incredibly smart and determined to be independent! He loves trains and wants to be a conductor some day.
We were very excited to learn that Nathan is a candidate for this remarkable surgery, but the recovery is very long and difficult and only minimally covered by insurance.
Nathan is a remarkable, lively boy with a kind, loving, compassionate heart who just wants to be like his twin sister and be able to walk, run, dance and play and enjoy what she and the rest of us take for granted.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for going "All Aboard for Nathan!"
