Life As We Know It Can Change In An Instant

We need your help to raise the money required to install a light at the intersection of Weymouth and South Blue Bell Roads in Gloucester County, New Jersey. This intersection was the scene of a fatal accident on July 5, 2015. This corner has been the site of numerous accidents and incidents, and that needs to end.

Britni Zarin was a beautiful 27-year-old who had more passion for life than anyone we've ever known. She was someone who had her act together, who could talk her friends down from a crisis, who grounded them; one of those unique, once-in-a-lifetime friends who made everyone she knew a better person. She was smart, funny, ALWAYS had a smile on her face, and made everyone feel like they were all extremely special to her. She would light up a room the moment she walked in, and she made sure everyone around her was happy, comfortable, and having a good time.

Britni was a former Philadelphia Soul cheerleader, a loving dance teacher to hundreds of amazing little girls, a dancer in a well-known dance company, and an unbelievably loyal best friend to more people than we can count. She had just decided to leave her full-time job as an accountant to pursue her dreams of dancing full-time, and was making plans to move across the country to California.

She spent the 4th of July at the Jersey Shore having the time of her life, as she always did. She woke up on the 5th, spent a few hours relaxing with her beloved friends, and then headed home to Elmer. That afternoon, she took her last breath.

Britni Zarin died in a car accident that occurred Sunday around 3:34 p.m. after allegedly running a stop sign at the intersection of Weymouth and South Blue Bell roads, according to reports. Her Kia Forte collided with a Ford Explorer, and her vehicle overturned and came to rest on vacant property on the corner of the intersection. The other driver was treated for injuries; Britni died at the scene.

Her death brought DEVASTATION to her family, to the town she grew up in, to the Philadelphia Souls, to her dance students, to her fellow dance company members, to everyone at Arthur P. Schalick High School (where she was, naturally, senior class president and dedicated to cheerleading, track, student council, renaissance, prom committee, and other extracurricular activities), to Widener University and her sorority sisters Phi Sigma Sigma, to EVERYONE who knew her, loved her, and was a part of her amazing life. it was impossible not to talk about how amazing she was, and about how lucky and wonderful it was to have her in your life.

Even people who didn’t know her were saddened by her death; a blog written about her was picked up by the Huffington Post and was featured on both the AOL and Yahoo! home pages

According to reports, a resident, who did not identify himself, was on the site of the crash  and said there is a need for a four-way stop at the intersection due to frequent accidents. We want to make sure no one else ever has to lose someone they love and suffer the way her friends—and most of all, her mother, father, and sister—are suffering.

We need your help to raise the money that the city requires to install a stoplight at the intersection of Weymouth and South Blue Bell Roads.

***This money is being raised to put in a flashing red light at the intersection of Weymouth Rd & South Blue Bell Road. If for any reason the city will not put in a stop sign or light, or if not enough money is raised to accomplish that goal, the money will be donated to the Britni Zarin Foundation, an organization to help underprivileged dancers. Any money raised in excess of $5,000 will also be donated to the Britni Zarin Foundation
