Rainforest Carving Workshop

Reciprosity is everything
and I need to pay it forward, so I'm heading back to Peru this September. There I will open and equip a woodcarving shop to teach Shipibo kids the ancient woodworking technique revealed to me in an ayahuasca vision several years ago.

It was a  Mind-blowing experience ‌

With this technique my students will surely achieve successful art careers just as I have. It really is just that awesome, very quickly eliminating perhaps 80% of a woodcarver's labor which means these youngsters will be able to earn $10-$20 or more per hour simply making souvenirs for the tourist trade, excellent wages for Peru.

And that's just the beginning. Over the years we will mentor our students' international careers through our international collective along with my students in Oakland and Haiti while they all sell their work locally. I will bring sets of hand tools for each student to learn with, eventually moving them into the use of power tools (I just recently shipped power tools to Haiti.) 

The lad pictured above is Reynihue, already a shaman's apprentice. Not only will he be a great curandero like his mother one day but also a great artist!

The workshop will be located at the healing center of Maestra Estele Pangoza, an incredible curandera who so expertly healed me several years ago. Estele's center is the only female Shipibo-owned and operated retreat in Peru. This is significant. Our project will fund the center's expansion, enabling Estele to double guest accommodation space.
