Antelope Co. Healthcare Attraction

Quality of life is one of the major reasons to live in small town Nebraska.  Access to affordable healthcare with a personal touch is one of the main contributors to amazing quality of life.  Antelope County is currently a healthcare professional shortage area in both dentistry and family practice physicians as designated by DHHS.  This presents the county with a unique opportunity to capitalize on a state level program that offers loan repayment to attract healthcare professionals. The Sherwood Foundation has issued a challenge grant to Antelope County, for every $2 raised locally, Sherwood will donate $1 to the Healthcare Professional Attraction Program. Antelope County must raise funds to match against the state's and Sherwood’s programs.

We’ve already raised $214,000 thanks to some very generous private donors, the Sherwood Foundation's  challenge grant, and the State of Nebraska’s Loan Repayment Program for Rural Health Professionals **  However, we still have $26,000 left to fundraise. 

Please consider a donation to help attract a doctor and dentist to Antelope County.  No amount is too small for this very important project!

This project was developed to ensure that healthcare in Antelope County remains a strength for the next twenty years.  Partners in the program are: Antelope County Healthcare Foundation, Neligh Economic Development Office , Jensen Dentistry , and Antelope Memorial Hospital . 



Caveats:

A doctor has yet to be identified but a dentist has been chosen contingent upon raising the funds locally.  

All funds donated will be given to the Antelope County Healthcare Foundation and will be used solely for healthcare professional loan repayment.

Funds raised will be split equally between a doctor and a dentist.

**This program must be applied for once all funds are raised and an interested doctor is identified.  Notice of the award for a dentist has already been given.
