Hello my name is Ariel McWhorter and with in the past 2 years I've lost 260lbs. I have gone from being a very unhealthy 440lbd to a much healthier 180lbd, but I still have 20-30lbs of extra skin.
But my weight loss Battle is NOT OVER. Even though my weight loss surgery has been successful the next step needed for me to be healthy is the skin removal surgeries. A lot of people don't understand how many health issues extra skin can cause.
The longer the extra skin stays attached the worse my health issues get. I've been to a dermatologist, 2 reconstructive surgeons and other doctors who have provided proof that my Skin Removal surgeries are necessary for my health. But due to financial struggles with in my family I don't have the money, but recently have insurance coverage that the doctors are working with to see if they will help cover some of the surgeries.
I have created this GoFundMe to ask my family, friends, & those out there who I have not yet had the opportunity to befriend to help me finish my journey to become a healthy me. I do not plan on relying solely on donations, I'm working hard and putting $ aside myself. I want everyone to know I'm working hard to reach this goal too, and all I'm asking for is help from those who can, and if you can't just your support and help to spread my story would be greatly appreciated.
For those interested, here is a break down of the cost of all 4 surgeries including hospital stay, anesthesia, check ups, and recovery time.
#1 Lower Stomach all the way around to back (abdominoplasty) $18,000
#2 Thighs $10,000
#3 Removal of the skin from my midsection, with the necessary breast lift and chest implants $12,000
#4 Upper arms $10,000
=$50,000
