Let me introduce Artem Chukanov, a Russian boy with big dreams! When Artem was 9 he began dreaming of coming to the United States. This dream came true in 2013 when he recieved an extremely competitive scholarship from American Councils to come to the US, stay with an American Host Family and study at an American high school for one year.

Here we are at the airport on our first day as Artem's host family. What an amazing year of learning and discovery we had while Artem was with us!

In June, 2014, Artem graduated with honors ranked third among his American peers and a new dream was born--to study at an American university and get an American degree.
At the age of 12, Artem became interested in journalism. Through the years he has concidered other careers, but his interest in journalism only deepened. When I asked why he wanted to become a journalist he replied, "I want to be the one who will spread love, truth, friendship [between nations]."
Artem is an excellent student recieving only top marks and many awards, honors and leadership roles throughout his school career. He is passionate about persuing his goals and dreams. Because of this, he didn't give up on his dream to get an American degree and has been accepted to an American university! However, wages in Russia are very low and dispite scholarship offers from the university his family can't afford the costs. He needs your help to make this dream a reality.
Watch this video to hear it all in his own words!
Artem is a very intelligent, brave and determined young man who is willing to do whatever it takes to reach his goals. Now he has the opportunity of a life time at the tips of his fingers. Please don't let a lack of money stop him from getting his degree and reaching this next step in his quest to make the world a better place for all of us!
