Please help save this kittens life!
June 20th, a sad thing happened; the kitten in the photo above, named "Hero", went missing. We believed him gone for good, but three days later, he showed back up on our doorstep, obviously injured. We took him in to be examined, and found he had a badly broken hind leg as well as damage to his hip. We were given three choices by the veterinarian:
1) Euthanize him.
2) Have the injured leg amputated.
3) Have the damage to both the leg and the hip repaired via surgery.
Unfortunately, the second option is predicted to run about $700 and the third option, which we would prefer, is predicted to run about $1200. Euthanizing him may be the most affordable, but it doesn't seem like a good option; in the past week since he returned he's been eating and (as much as he can) playing. Whether we can afford to try to get him treated fully or just the amputation, we want to do something, but all we can afford amongst ourselves is having him put down.

So we are asking those who can spare some money and are willing to donate so that we can have him treated instead of put down. We are also worried about his future well being after being treated, and are wanting to find someone that can keep him as a housecat. This is a lot for one family, but if others can share the burden with us, we can get it done.
