WHO WE ARE

Audio/Visible is an online zine that brings musicians and visual artists together to create new works. We strive to create a publication that is as diverse as the people who work within Toronto’s vibrant creative communities.


WHAT WE DO

Our first issue is slated for release on April 17, 2017. In it five visual artists will create new works in response to five existing sound recordings, with a focus on extending creative practice - examining the existing relationship between visual art and music, and exploring new creative opportunities that exist outside of that context.


WHY WE'RE RAISING FUNDS

Audio/Visible is a small arts publication, founded as a collective, which runs on a not-for-profit basis (though we are not yet incorporated). We rely on support from our readers and creative community to meet our financial needs. Our seven staff members do not draw salaries, and all funds raised will be used to pay artist fees, and to cover the expenses related to the publication and event.

But no contribution goes unrewarded. For $5 you will receive a digital copy of Audio/Visible's first issue, which will include music, visual art pieces created in response to the songs, and features on the artists and musicians. If you want to support us further, we have a number of contribution levels where you will receive the zine as well as various goodies from thank yous to merchandise to a private preview of our event.

*Please note that all contributrion rewards will ship in late April, following the launch of the zine
