Auntie Erlin's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Very recently, we learned that our Auntie Erlin, our mother's older sister living in the Philippines, has Stage 4 colon cancer. It has spread to her liver, lungs, aorta and ovary. As of this writing, she's undergoing surgery to remove the tumor blocking her colon. Auntie Erlin's hospital bills have accrued 85,000 pesos (about $1,770) so far. The additional surgery and possible chemotherapy may add a hundred thousand more pesos. We know it's a huge financial burden on them - our aunt and uncle are both retired and continue to support one of their daughters, who has impaired health after suffering from tuberculous meningitis as a child. And we know her heart aches from being so far from her eldest daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, who live in the UK. Our mom has always helped them financially over the years, like so many others living outside of the Philippines, and has paid for a portion her hospital expenses. She will have to go beyond her means to afford to have us all go back to see her before anything should happen. We haven't visited our family in 14 years, and of course this isn't how we wanted the circumstances to be, but sometimes we don't have a choice.

As some of our closest friends and family here, we're asking for your help in paying for our aunt's medical bills. Especially in the Philippines, a little goes a long way. If you could donate and/or share this page, your kindness would mean so much to our family. Thank you!
