Abud: A Bard's new EP Needs Help!!

Donation protected

Hello all!

My name is James Abud, and I perform as the singer-songwriter Abud: A Bard.

I'm releasing a new record of my original works in Spring of 2016 entitled: Making a Friend From Scratch. As it happens, the process of production is dauntingly expensive and needs your help!

On my first release in 2014 ("Fluff") I did everything myself (with the exception of tracking/mixing). I printed the discs, I made the cases, I did all the designs and I distributed them myself. All by hand. One at a time.
It took forever.

Not to say that they didn't come out FABULOUS.

This time, I'm going to do it up big. The new record will shine as brightly and beautifully as a tinfoil wrapped slice of pizza in the fridge that you didn't realize was there. All professionally done, with a real designer and real production values. The handmade vibe is great, but it takes an awful lot of time away from the actual MUSIC part of the music.

This is where all you heroes come in!

Your donations will cover:

- Tracking/Mixing/Mastering via Joe Quality Studios and Mama's House Productions  (both brilliant Chicagoland studios)

- The genius of  Amy Sundin and her inspired visual designs for the album art and digital extras

- The actual printing of all the discs, the album arts, the liner notes, everything!

- Promo and PR and getting the word out!

-Publishing, PRO, and Copyright fees.

...but most importantly...

- THE SWAG!!

And This!!

AND THESE!! (the stickers, not the banjo)

AND PERHAPS GREATEST OF ALL THIS!!!

We're planning to have the official release party for the album accompanying the launch date of the record for distribution at the beginning of June. So to have everything ready for that fateful day, we need your help as quickly as possible!

If we have the necessary funding by the end of March, we can make this dream a reality.

The above video is of one of the songs that will be on the new record. It's a song I wrote in tribute to some of the greatest people I've ever known and some of the best music ever made in history.

The love of people is what makes music possible. It takes the love of a composer for their craft, and the love of a community to encourage the composer. My music is my dedication and love for my community and family and friends, and my dream is to share with the world what they've helped me to create. I want this album to be a Thank You to all of those people who helped make music a sublime reality in my life.

I extend my eternal and heartfelt gratitude to anyone who chooses to  help. Also, fabulous prizes!!
