Lou Lou needs Emergency Vet Care!

Tax deductible

Updated 7/14/14- We are SO happy to report that Lou Lou survived his surgery and is steadily improving. His condition improved enough to allow him to receive this life saving surgery to remove the rubbery material inside his stomach and intestine.

Some of Lou Lou's generous supporters have asked for an updated total for his vet bills.  We've increased our fundraing total to the final vet cost for all of his care to $1400.  We will be posting a scan of the actual vet bill from Perkiomen Animal Hospital shortly with the actual total reduced by the rescue discount.  THANK YOU to Perkiomen Animal Hospital for their excellent care and to ALL of YOU who helped raise close to $700 of this total already (including pay pal donations that are not shown on this page).  We will continue to post photos and updates of little Lou Lou's progress.  This is one sweet, lucky guy!

Original post: Please help Lou Lou receive the care he needs to give him a chance to rebound! He has been given a 50:50 chance to recover from his extremely poor current condition. We want to do everything we can to help this sweet guy pull through!

Lou Lou is a young male cat that was found lying on the street on July 4th, 2014. At first, the person that found him thought he was dead. However, when they saw him breathing they suspected he had been hit by a car and took him to animal control. The vets at ACCT did not see external injuries, but his condition was so precarious he was going to be euthanized if a rescue could not be found to take over his care. Even as sick as he is, Lou Lou still attempts to purr and he has a strong will to survive. The Staff at ACCT begged for help with this sweet cat.

The Cat Shack is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill cat rescue and took in Lou Lou today, July 7th.  The Cat Shack vets are attempting to save him, but he is in very poor condition. He was found emaciated, severely dehydrated and covered in fleas. It's suspected he might have an intestinal blockage due to a foreign body, but surgery can not be preformed until he is stabilized. He is currently at Perkiomen Animal Hospital in Palm PA. So far he has recieved x-rays, bloodwork, FeLV/FIV testing (Neg/Neg), flea treatment, IV fluids and other supportive care.

His condition will be re-assessed tomorrow and if a blockage is confirmed he will receive surgery.

Please help us reach our goal of $500 to help with his current care. It's quite possible his vet care will well exceed this amount, but his condition is so uncertain right now that we don't feel comfortable asking for more help until we see if Lou Lou survives the nest few days. We will take one step at a time and hope that he received help in time to save his life.  All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you!
