Help PCV Replace Stolen Items
Donation protected
My name is Ashleigh Baker and I am a US Peace Corps Response Volunteer in Cameroon. On April 26, 2014, my house was broken into while I was away at a conference. The young man stole $3,643 worth of items and cash from my home. We worked with the local police to solve the case but quickly learned that the thief fled to Gabon. The Peace Corps generously returned the stolen cash, approximately $300, but I am still unable to replace the items I lost. The thief took everything from my sheets, shampoo and medications to my hard drive full of photos and documents from the past three years and the DSLR camera lenses that were lent to me for the duration my Peace Corps Response service.
I am only asking to replace the items that were generously lent or gifted to me or that I need in my everyday life here in Cameroon. This is very difficult for me to do, but sometimes you need to ask for help. The items can be found in my wish list.
After the robbery, a second security incident occurred, forcing Peace Corps to evacuated me from my post. I have moved to a new city and now have the task of refurnishing my house and readjusting. I am eager to move on and continue assisting Cameroonians protect their unique wildlife and rare forests. I appreciate any support provided!
