Bear Creek Range

My name is Lizzy Worthington and I'm raising money to build Bear Creek Trap Range, a new marksmanship facility near Brooklyn, Iowa.
Trapshooting is a great sport. I even hope to represent the USA in trapshooting at the Olympics someday.
Lots of my classmates at BGM and surrounding schools want to be on a trap team too. The coaching in our area is excellent and kids have a lot of potential, but existing practice facilities are over 25 miles away and schools do not provide transportation to practice. Adults in the community want to compete too, but the long distance is discouraging.
I decided to solve this problem by building a trap range as my Girl Scout Gold Award Project. I've worked for over a year to secure land and determine governance for the range. Land is being provided by the County and the Poweshiek County Sportsmen's Association (PCSA) will add the range to their family of fine shooting facilities once it is built.
I'm being helped by a great team of adults to design the range. It will follow American Trap Association (ATA) specifications and begin as a two field trap facility. More fields, and additional shooting facilities will be added in the future. Shooting will be available to members who pay a modest membership fee and attend safety training.
We need $ 50,000 to build Bear Creek Range and we need your help. We've raised over half of the money already and would like to raise the remaining funds now so that we can open by Spring 2017.
With your support, we will be able to begin construction this Fall. This is important because it will allow area squads to begin practice at the new facility at the beginning of trap season, not wait.
