Bel's BIG Bus Tour 4 Brain Injury
Donation protected
Did you know that 1 in 12 Australians are affected by brain injury?
My life has been personally touched by brain injury with my son receiving life threatening injuries following a car accident in March 2012. I became an integral part of my son's rehabilitation and after five years of hard work he is finally back working and leading an independent life. It has been a long journey and through my first hand experience I realised the lack of funding, resources and information available to those affected and their families so have made it my personal mission to raise awareness and funds for this invisible disability.
I began volunteering for Synapse (a not for profit organisation whose mission is to reconnect those living in the community affected by brain injury) and even purchased a bus which has been a key tool in my awareness campaigns. I am now an ambassador for Synapse and about to embrak on my biggest campaign to date.
I am going to drive my bus around Australia through six states in five weeks from July through August attending numerous events to shine a light on this invisible disability and attempt to break down barriers for a more inclusive community.
I will arrive back in Brisbane for brain injury awareness week.
Please help by donating to help make this trip happen, all proceeds raised on the trip will be donated to Synapse.
